We were worried about sending our son so far. They didn't push us. They showed what the first month would look like, down to rent, SIM card and bank account. We asked a lot of silly questions and nobody made us feel silly.

The shortlist was the useful part. I had twelve tabs open and no idea. After one session I had four programmes and a reason for each.

We learn about your studies, goals and budget, explain the study routes in Finland and agree the next steps. There is no obligation.

Research universities focus on academic and research-oriented degrees; universities of applied sciences (UAS) offer practice-oriented degrees linked to working life. We help you compare them against your goals.

It depends on the programme. Students from outside the EU/EEA generally pay tuition for English-taught bachelor's and master's programmes, while Finnish- or Swedish-taught programmes and doctoral studies are normally tuition-free. Living costs are separate. Always check the institution's current fee page.

Most programmes start in autumn and some have a spring intake. Application windows are set every year and published on Studyinfo.fi.

Students from outside the EU/EEA apply for a residence permit for studies from the Finnish Immigration Service (Migri) through its Enter Finland service. We guide you through the document checklist and the application.

International students may work part-time alongside their studies. The weekly limits are set by Migri and can change, so check the current rule on migri.fi.

Some institutions offer tuition waivers or scholarships, usually merit-based and with deadlines. We help you check what each of your shortlisted institutions offers.

No consultancy can. Admission and permit decisions are made by the institutions and the authorities. We help you prepare the strongest, most accurate application.
