I had taken IELTS twice before I met Rezaul bhai, and my score was stuck just under what two of my target programmes wanted. He didn't tell me to retake it a third time. He asked which parts of my profile were actually strong, and we rebuilt the shortlist around those. My SOP went through five drafts (the first one was embarrassing), and in the end I got an offer from Aalto. Imran bhai made the permit part feel manageable by telling me which documents people usually forget. Nobody warned me that Helsinki in November is dark by three in the afternoon, but I've made my peace with it.
